Day 7: A ship that makes your heart melt

Anna and Etienne. It's like no matter how much I get, it's not enough.

I just reread the book and I have to say, I fell deeper in lover with it. 

Etienne is definitely the most charming person in this world. He is such a sweetheart!

My favorite thing about him: French Name, English Accent and American School (You'll understand what I mean if you read the book).

This time round I cherished their friendship so much more. I knew how it would go so it was easier not to will them to get over it.

I loved how playful they were with each other, their constant teasing, their fun interactions. Their first meeting was so adorable and from there on it was just... it's something I want.

A friend like that is exactly what everyone needs. I might have been able to bare it if they remained just friends. I'm glad they didn't but I wouldn't have been utterly horrified.

When I read this book the second time around I find myself cherishing those little playful moments they had instead of their romance. I do love their love, though.

I'd find myself smiling at things Etienne would say all the time.

I love how after Bridgit and Toph hurt Anna, Etienne was such a great friend to her.

And when Etienne and Anna weren't on such great terms and he saw Anna cry about Bridget, he was like Do we still hate her? I love that. It's just such a BFF thing to do!

And then the dialogue If you can't tell your best mate then who can you tell?

Any line delivered by Etienne was amazing.

I did think they were both idiots for not coming clean about their feelings earlier.

Also, I thought they were the perfect pick for this prompt because of what Anna says (thinks) after her and Etienne kiss for the first time. She said she finally understood what people meant when they said kissing felt like melting.

I love their point zero wishes, they both wished for each other!

In Lola and the boy next door, any scene with Anna and Etienne was my favorite.

And in Isla and the Happily Ever After, the scene at point zero! That was the best!

These two are just the perfect pair. They're cute, playful, charming, adorable, heartwarming, perfect!

Top 15 Favorite Books 2015

TOP 15 of O'15

So, this is a list of my top 15 books of 2015.

15. Iron King by Julie Kagawa

I came across this book on Goodreads and I was like, what the hell, let's give it a shot. I totally loved this book. This series could've been on my top list if not for the spin-off series. I don't like the spin-off. The excitement I felt with Meghan and Ash I couldn't with Ethan. I kept imagining the four year old kid. I was put off by what happened in the spin-off, so my love for this book didn't prevail.

14. Dearest Clementine by Lex Martin

My first New Adult novel. I had been so used to the YA world that I refused to read anything else, but this book was fantastic. I fell in love. I loved the characters, the story line. I loved the entire theme of the story. For me, it was the Anna and the French Kiss of the NA world. 

13. Cinder by Marissa Meyer

Even though I'm crazy about TLC Cinder's quite low on the list. It's #13 because my love for Cinder wasn't instant. It took me a while to get me to get used to the cyborg thing. But about 25% into the book I was a goner. The theme was fantastic. Everything was so interesting and ultimately dragged me into their world.

12. Last Sacrifice by Richelle Mead

It was the first book series I read in 2015, and I loved it. It brought me back to reading. I liked Rose and Dimitri's part the best, the ending wasn't so bad, and I was overall happy with it.

11. The Ruby Circle by Richelle Mead

I thought it was a perfect spin off to Vampire Academy, and I had a fun time reading this series too, especially the last book even though it could've been so much better. I had many unanswered questions about Dimitri and Rose. I mean how can you drop a bomb like that and not tell us more!

10. Ruby Red by Kerstin Gier

Wow! It was such an amazing book. It's the first book that was translated from another language. It was a perfect translation. That was incredible. I loved the concept of the story line. The whole time traveler aspect of it was incredible. I loved Gwen but thought Gideon was a total jerk!

9. Harry Potter & the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling

I totally loved the entire Harry Potter series, but this book definitely was my favorite. Honestly, it was because of Sirius and Lupin. They are siriusly amazing!

8. Sword of Summer by Rick Riordan

I liked Percy Jackson and HOO and Kane Chronicles but I loved this series. It was probably because I totally fell in love Rick Riordan's writing before hand so it was easier to get into the book. I liked the Norse mythology aspect of it, I mean, I'm a huge Marvel fan, thus Thor! Anyways, I'm kind of anticipating Annabeth playing a bigger part in it.

7. Cress by Marissa Meyer

Captain Thorne! Oh, you perfect person. You're unbelievable. Cress is just so naive and I love it. I love Cinder in this book, she was so much better. This book got me so riled up about Winter which is amazing.

6. Emerald Green by Kerstin Gier

I fell in love with Gideon in this book, I was so frustrated with him in beginning of the book, but he got better. The Count was awful. This was my favorite in the series even though it felt like the last few pages had been ripped out

5. Isla and the Happily Ever After by Stephanie Perkins

      This was my favorite in the series even though I liked Anna and the French Kiss better. I loved their story and everything. I loved their story. I loved how they got together at the beginning itself, and I loved it. I loved that Anna, Etienne, Cricket, and Lola were present.

4. Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell

      Well, this was a great book, it's amazingness was lessened due to the fact I read Anna Lola and Isla right after this. It was actually the first contemporary book I ever read. I liked it. As a fanfiction writer myself, I could totally connect with Cath. I could see myself in her, the same awkwardness and everything. I could totally see myself as her.

3. Finding Audrey by Sophie Kinsella

I had so much fun reading a contemporary novel after so many fantasy ones. It was incredible. Finding Audrey was such a quick read and so entrancing. I loved the theme of the story. I loved reading about how she overcame her disability. It was so cool. Their family was amazing and so easy to relate to.
And I loved the romance aspect of it. I'm a sucker for romance! Anyways, pick this up if you want a quick fun read.

2. Anna and the French Kiss by Stephanie Perkins

Anna and Etienne are my favorite contemporary book couple. I audiobooked this series, so it felt like I was watching a movie. Oh, what a beautiful movie it was. I loved every second of it. It was such a perfect story. I liked their dynamic and everything. Ellie though, I hated her. She shouldn't exist. Well, I guess I'm biased. I love Anna!

FINALLY

The Best Book of the Year (According to Me)...

1. Winter by Marissa Meyer

'Mirror mirror on the wall, who is the best among them all?'

WINTER IS THE BEST AMONG THEM ALL.

Oh my god! What a perfect ending. It was unbelievable. It had me on the edge of my chair every second of the read and it was so hard to put down. I loved Winter. The dynamic between the characters was perfect. It made me feel things I'd never felt before, it was so intense.

When I was reading that scene with Levana and Kai, I was literally in pain. To me, it was as real as any book can be!

Tell me what your favorite book cover was and recommend some more for me to read this year.

Isla and the Happily Ever After

I love Isla and the Happily Ever After so much. I loved that we saw Isla and Josh's interact together for the first half of the book. In the other books, the main characters do not get together until the very end so it was a great change. Now on to the spoilers.

Isla and the Happily Ever After is such a cute story about a girl, Isla, who gets the guys she has pined after since their first year at SOAP.

It was kismet, how they ran into each other at the cafe Kismet.

Due to Isla's slightly sedated stage, she was more open towards Josh due to her visit to the destiny.

It was nice to see Josh again and to be back at SOAP.

I loved Kurt's character and I initially thought that he would be the jealous best friend who falls in love with her but thankfully that didn't happen.

I was ecstatic when they went back to France and they were finally together. Unlike the other books, they were together in the beginning.

Their relationship was so cute. Josh was definitely a better person when he was with her. I loved seeing his artistic side. He was definitely a great artist, yes I know I haven't seen any of it but I have read Isla's views on it.

I loved the scene in Barcelona. I loved reading about their time in Barcelona up until the point when she got the phone call. That broke my heart. It was horrifying when Josh got kicked out of SOAP separating him and Isla.

It was a heart-wrenching experience reading about their time apart. How he couldn't contact her. How she couldn't go to him. How they couldn't be together.

And when they were finally going to see each other again he had to go to the White House. I know it's an honor but come on!!!

And when he sends her the comic! Why would he give her a picture like that of Rashmi? I know he wanted her to know everything.

But then when she broke up with him because she was afraid that he didn't truly love her and would get tired of her. But come on, he was definitely truly in love with her.

And the chapters after that were painfully hard to read. It was nice to see Isla and Hatty make up.

I just wish her and Kurt were still as close as they used to be, but they definitely drifted off.

The part where she met up with Josh, Anna, Etienne, Lola, Cricket, and Meredith was amazing.

Oh! And the scene where Etienne proposed to Anna was beautiful. The fact he did that at Point Zero was amazing.

And finally, the part where he gave her the completed comic.

And even though the book was amazing, awesome, perfect, and so much more I do wish there were more chapters.

Lola and the Boy Next Door revolves around a budding fashion designer and her dilemma about two boys, Cricket and Max. Lola is an expressive character with her outfits and her strong personality. 

Her life was perfect until the Bell twins, Cricket and Calliope returned to their home right next to them after moving again because of Calliope's career.

I love Lola's relationship with her fathers, Andy and Nathan, though I loved Andy more. I loved Lola's relationship with her best friend, Leslie. She unlike Bridgit was a much better friend. 

I love her costumes and Cricket's inventions.

Cricket was such a gentleman, he was one of the nicest characters I've ever read about. He understood Lola. He understood why she wore costumes, he didn't think she was being fake. He understood her need to have costumes.

At first, I felt bad for Max when Lola started to kind of stray off, I don't hate her for it because she didn't actually cheat on him until... well, until that day in her room but he left right after that. 

I hated Calliope all through the book, even in the end. 

She was only nice to Lola when she needed Lola's help. She was the reason Lola thought Cricket didn't invite her to his party. She was the reason he though Lola didn't want to attend the party.

Max was initially not that bad, even though I didn't like him, he was a little controlling but still. But in the end, I loathed him. How could he do that to her? Yes, she broke up with him and told him she kissed Cricket but he hurt her more. He brought up her age, she was sensitive about it. 

He didn't like her when she wasn't in costume because she looked younger. The things he said about her age and costumes was absolutely awful.

I love that Cricket took her to the dance, dressed up as Marie Antoinette. The fact that he did her hair was great. He was such a help in her frantic worry.

I found it astonishing that they were able to make the dress together. That dress was so complicated. But the fact that he helped her was amazing. I also liked that he made his feelings perfectly clear. That he told her how he felt and how he was such a great friend in spite of her feelings.

My favorite parts were the scenes with Anna and Etienne. I love that they finally have a relationship, a beautiful relationship. I love their playful banter, I love how he got a job at the theater to be closer to her.

I love Anna and Lola's friendship. And Lola's friendship with Etienne and his with Cricket. They were such a great group. I love that all of them later are a part of Isla's story. I loved that Lola and Cricket were in the next book and even though it wasn't as much as Anna-Etienne in this book but it was nice to see them again.

Anna, Lola, and Isla is an amazing series. Even though it isn't an actual series, it fits together very well.

I love Anna and the French Kiss best. It is a beautiful story. The three stories are interconnected. The main characters from the first book are in the second, even though they didn't play a major role. It was nice seeing Anna & Etienne together.

Anna and the French Kiss is about a girl who moves to Paris in her senior year. She feels horrified about having to leave her best friend, Bridgit, her crush, Toph and an amazing job.

She attends School of America in Paris, SOAP where she meets Meredith and her group of friends, including an American Boy with a French Name and an English Accent. We follow Anna through her life at SOAP.

Her and Etienne's interactions were amazing. Even as friends they seemed more like a couple that him and Ellie. I hated Ellie. She was awful. Etienne was more in love with Anna. He should have had a spine and told her when he wasn't drunk.

Anna did the right thing not holding him onto his drunken words but if she had told him, they could have been together sooner.

Ellie and Etienne were simply together because they were comfortable with each other and frankly I don't think that's enough. I love that he faced his fear of height of heights to see Anna and that they both wished for each other.

It was the best scene in the book. I love the ending. I love when they finally got together though I wish there were more chapters, I wanted a little bit of Anna and Etienne, a lot more than one chapter.

I wish Ellie was out of the picture earlier and the two of them got their heads together sooner. I loved Josh's character. I was found it harder to believe Meredith forgave Anna so easily. I didn't like Rashmi's character much but she was decent in the end. Also, I loved the whole France theme and Anna's love for movies.

And Bridgit pissed me off. How could she do that to Anna? I got why she forgave Bridgit, I mean she did the same to Mer but still. And the Toph character was a jerk.

I love that Anna and Etienne's story continued in Lola and the Boy Next door. Yes, the role isn't big but it gives us an idea as to what happens to them.

This series is perfect and I love every second of it but, I do wish we got to see more of each couple. It would have been great to have a book with all six characters focusing on each of them with multiple points of views.

This series was the first contemporary novel I loved. I did like Fangirl but this was better.
My favorite in the series is Anna and the French Kiss.
